Rolling Review is a popular and forward-thinking alternative to the usual 3-yearly cycle of investors in people reviews.
Rather than an 'all–or–nothing' assessment on a single occasion, under Rolling Review the evidence is built up over a three year period – consolidating at the end. This offers more control, more flexibility, a review strategy more closely aligned with your own objectives, and cash flow advantages over the three year cycle.
With the help of your assessor, the organisation agrees a Rolling Review Strategy spanning the next three years. This is a flexible document that can be adjusted as time passes to reflect your changing needs and priorities Rather than looking at everything in one hit, annual visits explore whichever parts of the organisation and whichever parts of the Standard you feel is most appropriate at the time. The decision of what to focus on will be linked closely to your objectives and the challenges you are facing at the time

- Cost is spread over the period – in general, a Rolling Review approach (over the whole 3 years) costs 25% more than a one–hit, 3 year visit but of course the individual costs of each review visit are lower, and thus better for cash flow

- At the first two review visits, the notion of a 'pass/fail' outcome is removed – if you don't meet some of the Standard, or wider Framework, you have plenty of time to put it right
